Car Accident Shuts Down 2 Sections Of Waukegan Road: Northbrook Police
Police were asking motorists to avoid the area Monday as the accident was investigated.

NORTHBROOK, IL — A traffic accident closed two sections of Waukegan Road Monday for more than three hours. Police were asking motorists to avoid the area during an investigation.
At 3:24 p.m., police sent out a traffic alert saying the road was closed between Walters Avenue and Voltz Road.
"Please avoid this area and seek an alternate route until informed otherwise," police said in the alert.

Minutes later, police said the intersection of Walters Avenue and Waukegan Road was also closed due to a police investigation. A police department representative told Patch they believe that closure was also connected to the traffic accident.
At 6:44 p.m., police said the road was reopened in all directions.
