Northbrook Park District Wins 2 'Best Of The Best' Awards

The district was honored for commitment to arts and green practices at the annual Illinois Association of Park Districts gala.

NORTHBROOK, IL — For its commitment to the arts and green practices, the Northbrook Park District was recently awarded two prestigious "Best of the Best" awards from the Illinois Association of Park Districts.

The Arts in the Park award recognizes support for the arts and partnerships with artists and organizations to enhance the quality of life in the community. The Best Green Practices award recognizes initiatives to incorporate and encourage environmentally friendly business practices and policies.

Representatives from NPD accepted the awards at the Illinois Association of Park Districts gala, held on Oct. 24 at the Chevy Chase Country Club in Wheeling.

"We are deeply honored and humbled to receive this award," Northbrook Park District Executive Director Chris Leiner said.

Those in attendance from NPD included: Eileen Loftus, director of recreation; Erin Sweet, superintendent of arts and recreation; Melody DeRogatis, performing arts supervisor; Drew Kambach, visual and performing arts manager, Chris Leiner, executive director; Jason Risdon, commissioner; and Nancy Eschker, recreation manager.
