Fallen Light Pole Shuts Down I-94 Near Edens Spur: Police

All eastbound and westbound lanes of I-94 at the location are closed Thursday night, according to Illinois State Police.

NORTHBROOK, IL — A fallen light poll has slowed the Thursday evening commute on Interstate 94, just east of the I-294 spur, near Northbrook. Illinois State. All eastbound and westbound lanes of I-94 at the location are closed, with no estimated tie when the lanes will reopen.

Police said the incident occurred at around 3:24 p.m. The pole, which was damaged due to a crash, caused live wires to hang love over the interstate when it fell. Northbrook police are investigating the crash.

Crews are actively working on removing the hazard. Motorists are urged to seek an alternate route.
