Fatal Crash Shuts Down Traffic On Edens In Northbrook: Police

The northbound Edens after Dundee Road is shut down to all traffic Monday afternoon as a result of the crash.

NORTHBROOK, IL — A fatal crash Monday afternoon has shut down traffic on the Edens near Northbrook, according to Illinois State Police. The crash occurred at around 12:30 p.m.

Police said the crash, involving three cars, shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate-94, as well as the Dundee Road southbound ramp to I-94. Lake Cook Road southbound lanes to I-94 are also closed. Police said it is an active crash scene and there is no further information available at this time.

The Village of Northbrook said Northbrook police are assisting Illinois State Police with the closure of ramps on the Edens Expressway.

Impacted ramps in Northbrook, according to the Village, are:
• I-294 NB at Lake Cook
• I-94 East at Lake Cook and Dundee

Police are asking motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
