Floor Lamp Thief Charged With Felony: Northbrook Police Blotter
Police said the crime occurred in May at a Northbrook retail store.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE
Brittany K. Jackson, of Arlington Heights, is accused of having an expired registration, driving while license suspended, and was arrested at 1:21 p.m. Oct. 6, in the 1100 block of Wellesley Circle. A court date of Oct. 21 was assigned.

NO VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE
- Debbie Evans, of Bridgeview, is accused of having a suspended registration, no valid driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 9:10 p.m. Oct. 6, at Waukegan and Voltz roads. A court date of Nov. 5 was assigned.
- Humberto R. Flores-Vargas, of Des Plaines, is accused of having a suspended registration, defective headlight, no valid driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 9:18 p.m. Oct. 6, at Willow and Landwehr roads. A court date of Oct. 21 was assigned.
RETAIL THEFT

Melissa M. Ibardaloza, of West Chicago, is accused of felony retail theft, and was arrested at 2:21 p.m. Oct. 8, in the 1800 block of Willow Road. Police said Ibardaloza stole a floor lamp, valued at $306.96, from a retail store on May 4 and fled the area. After a thorough investigation, she was found and charged with a felony. A court date of Oct. 10 was assigned.

INCIDENTS
IDENTITY THEFT
- A Woodlawn Road resident reported at 11:31 a.m. Oct. 3, that while checking his credit report, he noticed someone had taken out two loans using the complainant's personal information. The complainant said the total amount of the loans was $7,600.
- A Cherry Lane resident called police at 11:38 a.m. Oct. 5, to report he had received an alert on his credit account. While checking his credit, he noticed someone had opened a Verizon Wireless account using his personal information. The complainant immediately disputed the unauthorized account and made a police report.
PHONE SCAM
A Wainwright Drive resident reported at 1:09 p.m. Oct. 3, he had spoken to someone claiming to be with the fraud department of his bank. The person said there had been some fraud that occurred on his business account, and they needed his pin code to stop future fraud. The complainant provided the pin code, but later followed up with his bank to confirm the person's claims. The complainant's bank advised him it was a scam, and the person was able to put in a wire transfer in the amount of $19,582.11. The bank was able to reverse the transfer but advised the complainant to close his accounts.
BURGLARY TO VEHICLE
A citizen reported at 12:02 p.m. Oct. 4, she had parked her 2019 Audi at her fitness center in the 1100 block of Skokie Boulevard and returned to it approximately two hours later. She noticed someone had gained entry into it and stole a backpack containing $215 worth of clothing. It is unknown if the vehicle was left unlocked.
