Gas Prices Up Since March In Northbrook

Gas prices in the Chicago area were well above the statewide average of $4.41 on Tuesday, which was $4.02 across Illinois on March 3. In Chicago, the average gas price is $4.82, compared to $4.20 last month. In the metro area, the price is $4.54 per gallon, compared to $4.13 in March.

The increases are especially sharp considering that the average gas price in Illinois was just $3.07 a year ago. The average price in the Chicago metro area this time last year was $3.16.

Nationally, Illinois is well above the average cost of gas, which is currently $4.17 per gallon.

Despite the increasing prices, shopping around in Northbrook can lead to some relief at the pump, even if it's minor.
