Glenbrook North Track Relay Follows Up Historic State Championship Feat With Race At Nationals

The 4x200 relay team is the first state champion from GBN boys track and field.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The Glenbrook North High School boys track and field 4x200 relay team was not only one of the fastest teams in the state this spring, but it also made some noise nationally.

At the Illinois High School Association state meet in May, held at Eastern Illinois University, the quartet became the first state champion from GBN boys track ever. The team consists of Ebin Fladeland, Aiden Fladeland, Fletcher Geake and Eli Kahn. Amazingly, their time of 1 minute, 26.25 seconds, was the 11th fastest time in the history of the IHSA.

The team followed that feat up by competing at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor Championship last month at Franklin Field, in Philadelphia, where they finished 11th in the nation with a time of 1:26.69.
