Hometown Coffee Opening New Location In Northbrook: Village
The new coffee shop will be the fourth on the North Shore, joining locations in Glencoe, Lake Forest and Winnetka.

NORTHBROOK, IL — As it pursues a downtown revitalization strategy, the Northbrook Village Board announced at its Tuesday meeting that Hometown Coffee is set to open a location in Northbrook. The new coffee shop, to be located at 1290 Shermer Road, will be the fourth operating on the North Shore, joining locations in Glencoe, Lake Forest and Winnetka.
The Village Board unanimously approved an Economic Incentive and Development Agreement with Hometown Coffee Northbrook, LLC. The development will include a full property renovation, featuring a new café and outdoor patio, according to officials.
Glencoe residents Lou and Julie Rubin opened the first location in Glencoe in 2019, followed by Winnetka in 2021, and Lake Forest last year.

In a news release, officials said the agreement allows for the Village to provide Hometown with a rebate of future sales taxes they are projected to generate in the form of a $1.5 million loan at a 6 percent interest rate over 15 years. Hometown Coffee must provide guarantees to cover any repayment not covered by future sales taxes.
