ID Of Passenger Killed In I-94 Car Crash Near Northbrook Released: Coroner
The 60-year-old died from blunt force injuries as a result of the Wednesday morning crash.
NORTHBROOK, IL — The identity of a passenger killed in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on Interstate 94 (Edens Expressway) near Northbrook has been released. Jianzhong Tan, 60, of Chicago, died from blunt force injuries as a result of the crash, according to the Lake County Coroner's Office.
According to Illinois State Police, who responded to the crash at around 10:42 a.m. along with the Northbrook Fire Department, a Toyota Sienna minivan lost control and struck a concrete barrier in a construction zone.
Tan was taken to Endeavor Health Highland Park Hospital where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room.

Police said the driver and three additional passengers were also taken to the hospital with injuries.
All northbound lanes were closed during the crash investigation and reopened around 5:46 p.m. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
