Leadership Northbrook Program Offers Unique Insights and Access

Registration is open for monthly Leadership series, starting September 12.

Develop leadership skills while learning about Northbrook’s most vital businesses and community institutions in Leadership Northbrook, a program series presented by the Northbrook Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Registration for the eight-session monthly program, beginning on Friday September 12, is now open on the Chamber’s website.

Leadership Northbrook is a program designed to prepare individuals for civic leadership roles in the community. Since its start in 1987, the program’s goal is to deepen the understanding of the area’s challenges, resources and opportunities, and to develop working networks among emerging leaders. In addition to hearing presentations from area leaders and elected officials, participants also take part in leadership exercises to enhance individuals’ skills and build a sense of team within the group.

For almost 40 years, the Leadership Northbrook program has provided participants with unique access to public and private facilities. Meeting on one Friday morning each month September - April, the class meets with community leaders from Village Hall, the police and fire departments, school districts, and other agencies. In addition, tours of major businesses like Bernhard Woodwork, UL Solutions, and Wiss Janney Elstner Associates provide an insider’s perspective on the local business climate.
