Multi-Car Crash Slows Down Northbook Traffic: Police

The Thursday morning crash closed several lanes of traffic for cleanup on Dundee Road.

NORTHBROOK, IL — A multi-car crash slowed down the morning commute Thursday at the intersection of Dundee Road and Western Avenue. Police said the accident occurred at around 7:04 a.m. and Dundee Road was partially closed for about an hour for a crash investigation and cleanup.

One of the drivers of the three cars involved was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the driver at-fault was traveling westbound, turned in front of oncoming traffic on Dundee Road and struck a vehicle that was traveling eastbound. The vehicle that was struck rolled over onto its side. A third vehicle, which was waiting at the light, was struck by the at-fault vehicle as well.

The at-fault driver was cited for failure to yield while turning left, according to police.
