IL Bowling Chain Closing Locations Amid Bankruptcy Filing: Report

The company closed 10 of its 18 locations across several states Monday.

NORTHBROOK, IL — Pinstripes Holdings, Inc., the Northbrook-based bowling and restaurant chain, has filed for bankruptcy, closing a number of locations across several states in the process. According to court documents, the publically-traded company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Monday. The filing lists Pinstripes' liabilities at between $100 million and $500 million.

According to the company's website, 10 of Pinstripes' 18 locations are closing, including one in Chicago's Streeterville neighborhood. Chicago Tribune is reporting Pinstripes' flagship location in Northbrook, along with restaurants in Oak Brook and South Barrington, will remain open as the company seeks a new buyer. The Northbrook location at 1150 Willow Road opened in 2007.

"We will keep operating as usual – welcoming guests, hosting events, and supporting our remaining team members," Pinstripes said in a social media post. "Your gift cards and event deposits remain valid at continuing locations, and this process will allow us to emerge stronger and continuously focused on providing exceptional experiences for our guests and partners."

In addition to the Illinois location, restaurants in Florida, Texas, Connecticut, Kansas and New Jersey are closing, with Pinstripes staying open in Minnesota, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
