Donald C. Gassmere, age 69, of Northbrook, IL. Beloved husband of Susan Jo nee Ryan; loving father of Jo Anne (Craig) Tagliamonte, Donald, Jr., Timothy (Dawn) and Julie (fiance Kevin Righeimer) Gassmere; dear grandfather of Colin, Keagan, Nora and Ryan; dear brother of the late Frank (Dolores) Gassmere; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Don proudly served the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Don was Past Commander of American Legion Post 791 Northbrook, IL, Past Commander of the 7th District Council and Past Commander of the 1st Division Cook County Council. Proud Member of the Knights of Columbus and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
