Northbrook Public Library: 180K Items From Vernon Hills Will Be Added To Network
Services will be limited at the Northbrook Library starting Friday through Tuesday due to catalog system maintenance.

Our Catalog is Growing Larger
From Friday, August 29, through Tuesday, September 2, account access, search, and some online services will be limited due to catalog system maintenance to add the Vernon Area Public Library to our library network. Starting Wednesday, September 3, you will be able to access more than 180,000 items from the Vernon Area Public Library.
During this time
- You can still sign up for a library card and check out materials, including your holds. Please bring your library card when checking out items, if possible.
- You can still return materials, but no materials will be checked-in or due, and no fines will be issued.
- The online catalog may be out of date. Please call ahead to confirm that an item is on the shelf.
- You will still be able to log into your online library account, but you will not be able to use it to place holds, pay fines, or modify your account information.
- To place a hold, please visit the Reference, Fiction & Media, or Youth Services desk or call 847-272-6224.
Starting Wednesday, September 3
- Full functionality is expected to be restored.
- In addition to the 31 area libraries in our network (CCS), you will now be able to use your library card at the Vernon Area Public Library to check out materials.
