Northbrook Trustees Want State to Drop Speed Limit on Waukegan Road

Northbrook trustees say they want the state to drop the speed limit on Waukegan Road from 40 mph to 30 mph when it approaches downtown Northbrook after a resident expressed concern at a village meeting, Chicago Tribune reported. 

Northbrook mom Sheila Czajka, who lives near the intersection of Shermer and Waukegan roads, told trustees that the speed limit on Waukegan Road is decreased to 30 mph when it approaches downtown Deerfield and Glenview but stays at 40 mph in downtown Northbrook, and that she feels uncomfortable letting her 10-year-old son cross Waukegan Road alone, Chicago Tribune reported.
