Prairie Grass Cafe Announces a Heartwarming Hanukkah Menu for 2025

Featuring a Special Holiday Collaboration with Verzênay Patisserie

Prairie Grass Cafe (601 Skokie Blvd., Northbrook) invites guests to celebrate the warmth and meaning of Hanukkah with a comforting, chef-crafted holiday menu available for takeout and dine-in on Sunday, December 14. Co-owner and James Beard Award–winning chef Sarah Stegner has created a dinner rich in tradition, seasonal ingredients, and the signature simplicity and care that define Prairie Grass Cafe.

This year’s menu includes a limited-edition treat: award-winning challah and rugelach from Chef Arshiya of Verzênay Patisserie, offered as a special accompaniment to the restaurant’s Hanukkah selections. Verzênay’s challah received first place at the 2025 Tiptree World Bread Awards USA, and Prairie Grass Cafe is delighted to feature it as part of the holiday celebration.

“Hanukkah is about family, comfort, and traditions that bring people together,” said Stegner. “We’ve designed a menu that feels deeply rooted in those values, using ingredients from our trusted local farmers—like apples from Mick Klug Farm—and complementing our dishes with Chef Arshiya’s beautifully crafted breads and pastries.”
