'Rag-Tag Bunch' Must Save The Holiday In Northbrook Theatre's 'A Christmas Chaos'
The Northbrook Park District community theater group's latest production will include 36 local actors.

NORTHBROOK, IL — If you're looking for a "unique and hilarious" way to celebrate the holidays, make sure to check out "A Christmas Chaos," the Northbrook Theatre's latest production. According to the Northbrook Park District, shows are scheduled for 6 p.m. Dec. 13, and 1 p.m. Dec. 14.
Tickets are $17 for the shows, which will be performed at the Northbrook Public Library, 1201 Cedar Lane. The change in venue is due to an ongoing renovation of the future Northbrook Community Center (formerly the Leisure Center).
The park district said "A Christmas Chaos" will feature 36 actors, with one cast performing on Dec. 13 and another cast performing on Dec. 14. Melody DeRogatis, performing arts supervisor, and Drew Kambach, visual and performing arts manager, are co-directing the show.

The play is about the failure of the Royal Shakespeare Company to show up for its performance of "A
Christmas Carol" in Northbrook, which leads a rag-tag bunch of community members to put on the full production with very short notice.
"The story is unique because it's a 'frame' story, or 'play within a play,' because every actor plays themselves playing a role in 'A Christmas Carol,'" DeRogatis said. "It's interesting, fun and very 'meta.'"
