The eighth annual St. Norbert Block Party lasts from 8:00 am. to 10:00 p.m. and features a CARA certified 5K Run, Kid's Fun Run, beer garden, live music and children's activities.
The block party will also feature a fundraiser for a new playground at the school in memory of Kyle Caraher, the 17-year-old Glenbrook North football player who passed away a year ago in a car accident.
An online fundraiser called Kyle's Dreaming Tree is set up with the goal of collecting $30,000 over the next two months to help build a playground on the grounds of the grade school and junior high that Caraher attended.
