Walmart Removes 24 Hour Operation From Zoning Application
Village staff is currently reviewing a zoning application for a proposed Walmart at 1000 Skokie Blvd.

Staff has begun reviewing a Walmart application for its completeness and compliance with Village regulations. Based upon staff’s initial review, it appears that the applicant’s proposal is very similar to what the board reviewed during the preliminary application stage.

There is one notable change in that the applicant is no longer requesting a 24/7 operation, but are proposing hours of 6:00 a.m. to midnight, seven days per week. Once staff has finished its review, staff will determine if the application is ready for a public hearing before the Plan Commission.
The earliest possible date for a Public Hearing would be June 18, 2013. Public Hearing notices will be posted on line at www.northbrook.il.us and reminders sent via Northbrook Notify.

NCDAA Finds New Home
Northbrook Citizens For Drug & Alcohol Awareness (NCDAA) President Marcia Doniger, on behalf of the NCDAA Board of Directors, announced that NCDAA will merge into the North Suburban YMCA to continue the mission of drug prevention and education.
after thirty years of community service but would provide assistance to anyone or group that was willing to take over the mission of the 501(c)3 organization. Marcia Doniger will be recognized for her 30 years of service as President of NCDAA and her contributions to Northbrook at the May 14 Village Board meeting.
