Woman With 3 Arrest Warrants Accused Of Retail Theft: Blotter

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
THEFT
Sarah A. Jaeger, 29, of 1733 Western, Northbrook, is accused of theft. She was arrested on Dec. 20 at 10:08 a.m. after the Illinois Lottery notified the CVS in the 900 block of Willow that there were discrepancies in the amount of payouts the store had completed. An investigation showed that the employee number used to complete the payouts was unique to Jaeger. She will appear in court on Jan. 6 at 9 a.m.

RETAIL THEFT
Sarah Arechiga, 38, of 901 Bidwell Dr., Gurnee, is charged with retail theft and obstructing. She was arrested on Dec. 20 at 4:11 p.m. after a complainant reported that a subject, later identified as Arechiga, appeared to be concealing items at the Nordstrom Rack in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard. The subject left the store with several bags containing around $1,500 in merchandise, but was stopped by loss prevention staff. When Arechiga was transported to the police station, an officer learned she had three outstanding warrants for her arrest. Arechiga will appear in court on Jan. 6 at 10:30 a.m.

INCIDENTS
BATTERY
A complainant reported on Dec. 18 at 2:49 p.m. a physical altercation with a co-worker after exchanging words in the 3600 block of Commercial Avenue. The complainant did not wish to sign complaints.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
An employee at Saks OFF 5th (100 block of Skokie Boulevard) reported on Dec. 18 at 6:20 p.m. that a former employee threatened to harm them. The complainant did not wish to take any further action.
SOLICITOR COMPLAINT
On Dec. 18 at 12:45 p.m., a complainant reported an unknown subject in the roadway at Lake Cook & I-94. The person was reportedly soliciting and becoming aggressive by slapping their hand on people's windshields. An officer located the subject, who denied making contact with vehicles and agreed to leave the area without incident.
THEFT
- A resident of the 3900 block of Rutgers Lane reported on Dec. 18 at 3:10 p.m. that they believe a family member removed USC from their residence without permission.
- A resident of the 1900 block of Pfingsten Road reported on Dec. 18 at 4:12 p.m. that an unknown subject(s) removed several delivered packages from their front porch area.
- A resident of the 1200 block of Hillside reported that an unknown subject(s) had opened a package delivered to their home and removed the items.
CIVIL DISPUTE
A complainant at Saks OFF 5th (100 block of Skokie Boulevard) reported on Dec. 18 at 5:58 p.m. that they were having a dispute with store management over a return policy. Officers spoke with both parties involved, and the complainant left the area without incident after they were advised to contact the corporate offices for assistance.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE PROPERTY
A complainant in the 2900 block of Harbor (Greenfield Park) reportedly observed dirt and debris in front of their residence and tire tracks in the field of the park on Dec. 18 and 19.
THREATENING TELEPHONE CALL
An employee of the Saks OFF 5th in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard reported on Dec. 20 at 8:12 p.m. that they received threatening telephone messages from a recently terminated employee. An officer called the former employee and advised them to stop calling the store.
