Woman Arrested for Repeat Counterfeit Attempt
Also, someone dumped green dye in a downtown fountain.

The following information is from the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.
Fountain dyed green
Someone placed green dye into the fountain in the 1300 block of Shermer sometime overnight July 25. No dye containers were found on scene. The fountain had to be drained and refilled. There does not appear that there will be any permanent damage.

Playground equipment damaged
Someone attempted to tip over a playground truck in the 200 block of Lee Road, breaking it free from its mount in the ground below the mulch. The equipment itself was not damaged, but repairs to the wood underneath are required. There is no estimate of cost of repair.

Trying to use counterfeit bills
The complainant related earlier in the day on July 29, a woman attempted to pass a counterfeit $100 bill in their restaurant in the 1000 block of Willow Road. The complainant called 911 again to report that the offender returned to the store attempting to pass another counterfeit bill. Officers arrived and took Aniekay A. Hood, 19, of the 6500 block of North Beale St. in Milwaukee, into custody. She was charged with two counts of felony forgery processed and placed in a cell awaiting transportation to Skokie Bond Court.
Credit card fraud
Todd E. Schwartz, 37, of the 300 block of Park Ave. in Highland Park, had stolen the victim’s credit card in Riverwoods on July 23 and subsequently used the credit cards at the store to purchase electronic merchandise. Officers were able to identify him. He turned himself into the police station where he was processed and transported to Skokie Court for bond hearing.
Car scratched
Someone used a tool to scratch the doors and front fenders of a 2004 VW Jetta vehicle in the 300 block of Pfingsten Road between 7:30-11 a.m. July 31. It was parked in the employee parking area of the business. It caused an estimated $2000 in damage.
