Selected as one of the top 20 best holiday recordings in the New York Times for 2013, saxophonist Tim Warfield's Jazzy Christmas, returns to the Jazz Showcase &nbsp;to showcase a fun collection of traditional holiday songs, realized from an improvisational perspective. The musical programming for this performance, will host a stellar cast, to perform familiar material such as "Joy to the World" and "Silent Night," but will also include a few obscure gems like Claude Thornhill's "Snowfall," and even one Hanukkah song, all in the spirit of the holidays. The arrangements are often quirky, but clearly unique, resourcing as jazz often does, from many other musical genres, while the musicians creatively incorporate the use of rhythmic and harmonic devices as a means to collectively create rich melodic expressions.

On Monday, December 22th&nbsp;at 8pm at The Laugh Factory comedian Paul Farahvar hosts "Stand Ups, Sit Down", a stand up comedy/talk show format show with Chicago's Best Comedians doing stand up and then sit down with Farahvar to discuss anything and everything.
Complete with sketches, desk pieces and crowd questions, Stand Up Sit Down promises to leave the crowd satisfied with mounds of laughter. Guests include Subhah Agarwal (Netflix), DJ Rybski (OnlyFans),&nbsp;Chelsea Hood&nbsp;and a special guest
"Stand Ups Sit Down" is the latest creation of Chicago comedian and recovering attorney Paul Farahvar, who previously delighted audiences with his popular weekly show "Drink Date Laugh", the longest running weekly show at the World Famous Laugh Factory and "Everyone's a Lawyer," currently in consideration for network television. Farahvar has been delighting audiences with his self-deprecating humor witnessed at his stand up shows or heard on his award winning podcast SINGLES ONLY! (Chicago Reader's Best Podcast in 2022)

But inspired by the kindness and motherly affection of Snow White, Binkley goes on a quest to find three items that will assure them a place amongst the dwarf elite. Will Binkley find the courage that resides deep inside them? Will they be paralyzed by the Wicked Witch? Will they be able to find a genuine cow?

Throughout Season 9 Ghostlight will present a three-part cabaret experience devised by Ensemble Member Khnemu Menu-Ra,<a href="https://patch.com/illinois/northcenter-roscoevillage/love-takes-place-stage-3-stages-starting-friday" target="_blank"> 3 Stages of Love.</a>
Love always makes for a good story because some part of it is always relatable. And what better way to explore all the various sides to love than in a three-part cabaret using – at least some – words and songs that people already know.
The semi-autobiographical work features a blend of Shakespeare and song – along with original pieces. The full series will run over the course of the season — no need to attend all three, each piece stands alone as a complete work, but a richer story unfolds if you see the entire cycle.
The three-part series is comprised of: 
<ul><li>Part 1: Origins of Love: The Miseducation of Dr. K. September 2025. A sort of classic "boy meets girl/meet cute” that also explores what happens next.</li><li>Part 2: Simple Love/Unperfect Actor. February 2026. A coming of age while emotionally stunted story.</li><li>Part 3 Extraordinary Love. Spring/Summer 2026. A tale that remembers the past, embraces the present and hopes the future will continue to be anything but ordinary.</li></ul>
Not familiar with cabaret as an artform? Cabaret is a form of theatrical entertainment dating back to 15th century Paris and features music song, dance, recitation and/or drama. The performance venue is usually a pub, bar, restaurant, nightclub or even, occasionally, a casino with a space for performances. The audience is often dining and drinking during the performance. Cabaret is often (but not always) oriented towards adult audiences with an underground history.
Part 2 takes place on&nbsp;Fridays, February 13, 20 &amp; 27, 2026, at Mrs. Murphy &amp; Sons Irish Bistro (3905 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60613).
