Examiners Unable to Lift Prints From Body Found in Chicago River
Police are still investigating the body of a man who was pulled out of the Chicago River in Northcenter Saturday.

Several question marks remain in the case of a dead body that was pulled over the weekend from a Northcenter section of the Chicago River.
The person’s identity had not yet been determined as of 11 a.m. Tuesday, though officials do know the victim is a white male in his mid- 30s or 40s, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Staff there said it was unclear how long the victim had been in the river, though his body sustained extensive water damage.

That damage has so far prevented them from getting viable fingerprints, said Tony Brucci, head of investigations for the medical examiner’s office.
Police representatives said Tuesday the investigation was pending results of an autopsy report.

A resident called the Chicago Fire Department around 10 a.m. on Saturday after seeing something floating in the river, said a representative from Chicago Police News Affairs.
The man was found in the 2700 block of West Irving Park Road.
Brucci said the case remained under investigation Tuesday morning. He deferred to the police department for additional information and couldn’t say whether or not foul play was suspected.
