Crime Map: Sex Abuse at a Bus Stop; 5 Burglaries

Several burglaries, a robbery and three public indecency incidents were among crimes reported within North Center between June 25 to July 8.

Aggravated Battery


SATURDAY, JUNE 29

  • Police say a victim was seriously injured during an aggravated battery that occurred around midnight in the 4200 block of North Damen Avenue. The incident was at an apartment, according to the report.

Burglary


TUESDAY, JUNE 25

  • Someone burglarized an apartment around 2 p.m. in the 4300 block of North Campbell Avenue.

  • A burglar, or burglars broke into an abandoned building in the 2500 block of West Irving Park Road. The report was made around 7 p.m.
  • An apartment in the 3800 block of North Western Avenue was burglarized around 3 a.m., police said.

SUNDAY, JUNE 30

  • A burglary was reported around 6 p.m. in the 3100 block of North Western Avenue. An apartment was targeted, according to the report.

TUESDAY, JULY 2

  • Residents reported a break-in to their garage around 9:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of West Wellington Avenue.

Motor Vehicle Theft


TUESDAY, JUNE 25

  • A vehicle parked in the 3600 block of North Hamilton Avenue around 10:30 p.m. was burglarized. The car was parked in the street, police said.
  • Police say a cycle, scooter or bicycle was burglarized around 8:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of West Bell Plaine Avenue.

SATURDAY, JUNE 29

  • Thieves targeted a vehicle that was parked in the street in the 4100 block of North Western Avenue. It was reported around 11:30 a.m.

SUNDAY, JUNE 30

  • Police say a burglar, or burglars, broke into a vehicle around 7:30 p.m. that was parked in the 1900 block of West Melrose Street. The car was not in a garage or parking lot.

THURSDAY, JULY 4

  • A vehicle classified in the report as a "truck, bus or motor home," was burglarized around 9 p.m. It was parked in the 3900 block of North Rockwell Street.

FRIDAY, JULY 5

  • Thieves targeted a vehicle that was parked around 6 p.m. in the 1900 block of West Cuyler Avenue. It was parked in the street, according to the report. 

Robbery


SUNDAY, JUNE 30

  • Police say a robber armed with a handgun stole from a pedestrian around 3 a.m. who was walking on a sidewalk in the 1800 block of West Larchmont Avenue.

Criminal Sex Abuse


TUESDAY, JUNE 25

  • Someone exposed himself or herself around 10:35 p.m. in the 3200 block of North Western Avenue. The crime occurred at a CTA bus stop, police said.

SATURDAY, JUNE 29

  • Police say someone was making obscene phone calls around 12:15 a.m. to a resident in an apartment on West Hutchinson Street. 

MONDAY, JULY 1

  • A public indecency incident was reported around 7:30 p.m. in an alley of the 3900 block of North Claremont Avenue.

Simple Assault


THURSDAY, JUNE 27

  • Police say a simple assault occurred around 10:30 a.m. at a government building or property in the 2400 block of North Belmont Avenue.

THURSDAY, JULY 4

  • A simple assault was reported around 1:15 a.m. at a residence in the 4000 block of North Campbell Avenue, according to police.

Simple Battery


  • Someone was battered around 9:50 p.m. in the 1800 block of West Belmont Avenue. The incident occurred on the sidewalk.
