Headliners Announced for Roscoe Village Burger Fest

The annual street festival at Belmont and Damen is featuring new stage performances and even more burger joints putting their flavor into the mix.

One of Roscoe Village’s most famous street festivals is back, and this time it’s bringing even more burger joints and two new stage performances to the “Village Within the City.”

Alternative rock band Sister Hazel will join the New Orleans-based band Cowboy Mouth—a rock band—at Roscoe Village Burger Fest on July 13 and 14. The fourth annual celebration at Belmont and Damen avenues runs both days from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Sister Hazel describes itself as mixing folk rock, pop and southern rock to create some catchy melodies. Cowboy Mouth, on the other hand, is bringing more classic rock.

The event is also slated to snag more burgers than ever before. Nearly 15 vendors are coming to Burger Fest including Butcher & The Burger, Hamburger Mary’s and 2012’s burger “Fave,” Wrigleyville’s Rockit Burger Bar.

The veteran venders will be pinned up against this year’s three new restuarants eyeing up the prize. Indie Burger, Etno Village Grill and Yoshi’s Café are headed to Roscoe Village in July in an attempt to steal the “Fave” status.

While the event suggests a donation of $7 at the gate, all the proceeds are benefitting the Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce to make the village a better place to live. The event made possible with help from Chicago’s Special Events Management, the organization behind other area favorites like Roscoe Village’s Guinness Oyster Fest scheduled for Sept. 7.

In addition to the food and music at Burger Fest, the street festival also features arts and crafts, and a “Kids’ Zone” for children and families.
