Local Man Cleared After Shattering Macy's Storefront, Reports Say
A judge dropped charges against a North Center man who reportedly started a fight with another in the Loop last month, causing property damage.

Charges were dropped earlier this month against a North Center man who police say started a fight last month that sent he and another man crashing through a Macy's storefront, according to reports.
Chicago WLS Radio recently reported that on Oct. 2, the Cook County State's Attorney dropped felony aggravated battery and criminal damage to property counts against Chad Chamberlain, 30. Chamberlain, of the 4100 block of North Damen Avenue, had been facing the charges since a Sept. 16 incident in the Loop. He was originally being held on $250,000 bail, reports say.

"'A 25-year-old man was passing out (fliers) for a health club in front of Macy’s in the 100 block of South State Street just after noon (Sept. 16) when Chamberlain began shouting profanities at him,' (police News Affairs Officer John) Mirabelli said.
Chamberlain pushed the man in the chest and a struggle ensued, before both men crashed through a plate glass window on the Wabash Avenue side of the store … "
