UPDATE: Motorcyclist Killed in North Center Identified
Police say the 33-year-old man was thrown from his bike after hitting a parked car in North Center.

A 33-year-old man is dead after hitting a parked car in North Center early Wednesday morning, Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.
The man is now identified as Adam Whitson of the 4600 block of North Lincoln Avenue, according to the Chicago Tribune. He was transferred to Lake View’s Advocate Illinois Masoic Medical Center, and was pronounced dead at 5:10 a.m., police said.
According to police, the accident occurred sometime around 4:45 a.m. when the man hit a two-door car parked on the 2200 block of West Montrose Avenue near Welles Park. The collision happened after the man was riding a motorcycle westbound on Montrose and began merging into the right lane.

The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike, and while police can’t confirm if the man was wearing a helmet, the Chicago Tribune reports a helmet was found on the ground at the scene.
"It sounded like a truck going over those heavy metal plates," North Center Tony Pintozza, 68, told the Tribune.

Police say they are still investigating the accident.
