New Greek Fest Promises Authentic Wine, Pastries
A new festival will take debut near the neighborhood this weekend, featuring Greek food, pastries and wine.

Lincoln Square is known for is German heritage, but one neighborhood church is adding a new flavor to the area.
St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church is throwing a Greek food festival for its 85th anniversary this spring.
Featuring food, wine and pastries from the Greece, the free festival is a precursor to their annual August celebration.

The St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church Winter Food Festival will be March 1-3. Hours on Friday are 5 to 9 p.m., Saturday noon to 9 p.m. and Sunday noon to 6 p.m.Â
Free parking is available at the church, 2727 W. Winona Ave. and nearby Budlong Elementary School.

- Tenderloin Souvlaki (Shish-ke-bob)
- Greek Chicken,
- Gyros sandwich
- Pastichio (Greek lasagna)
