North Center resident and former Lifeline Theatre Artistic Director, Dorothy Milne, Co-Organizes & Performs in Lifeline Theatre’s 25th Annual Fillet of Solo Festival, running virtually January 21- February 13.

For Milne, the festival has been a consistent highlight in her career with Lifeline Theatre, over the span of her 30 years of involvement. She joined the theater’s ensemble in 1992 and was selected as its artistic director in 1999. This North Center resident also holds various nominations for Jeff awards and at least one non-equity award for directing. Milne will be performing with the Sweat Girls.

Having been part of Chicago’s Live Lit community for 29 years, the Sweat Girls represent the greying edge of the solo performance scene. Known for their “contagious gusto” the Sweat Girls have been called “the undisputed tribal elders” of the solo performance scene (Chicago Reader, 2014).
