North Center Vintage Store Opens Location on Michigan
The vintage boutique is making big strides in Chicago, this time by opening a second location in the city's premiere shopping district.
Popular vintage store Lulu’s at the Belle Kay is expanding in Chicago to one of the city’s premiere shopping districts: Michigan Avenue.
The Northcenter staple carries high-end clothing and accessories from around the world.
Owner Laurie Davis opened her second store, Lulu’s on the Avenue, on Tuesday on the third level of The 900 Shops on Michigan Avenue, according to Racked Chicago. The store, which will be solely devoted to selling vintage accessories, is big move for Davis.

“I was missing a huge piece of business: the tourist traffic,” Davis told Racked Chicago. “And when I started watching what Burberry was doing and Louboutin, I thought, ‘Wow, these people are doing their research.’ It's an expensive venture and the timing had to be right, but once I could wrap my head around doing it then I moved forward quickly."
Davis opened Lulu’s at 3862 N. Lincoln Ave. in 2003, meaning her new venture comes now 10 year later. Gowns, cocktail dresses, furs and jewlwery from the 1920s through the 1980s fill the space in Northcenter.
