More Than 2K Without Power After Hearing 'Big Boom'
UPDATED: ComEd blames Friday's electrical failure on an disabled power lines.

CHICAGO, IL — More than 2,000 customers are without power Friday morning on the North Side, according to ComEd. The electrical outage happened at around 9 a.m. in the Uptown neighborhood, and ComEd reports that 2,326 customers are affected.
The power company blamed damaged electrical lines for the cause of the outage, and residents in the area reported hearing an explosion before the failure. ComEd sent work crews to fix the issue. Power was restored by 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 23, according to ComEd.
