Pawar Talks New Brewery, Beer Scene in Northcenter

It’s no coincidence new breweries and taprooms like Begyle, Spiteful and Half Acre are coming to the neighborhood, joining staples Metropolitan Brewing and Koval Distillery.

Northcenter and Ravenswood have become the newest craft beer hotspots, and it’s partly because of the area’s representation on Chicago City Council.

That’s why Karl Klockars, a writer for beer review website Guys Drinking Beer, sat down with Ward 47 Ald. Ameya Pawar for a Q&A on the neighborhood brew scene.

In the interview, Pawar revealed his role in bringing Half Acre Taproom to Northcenter and who he wants to see—or what he wants to drink—in the neighborhood next.
