'Potholepalooza' to Rock Bumpy Roads with Resident's Help

The Chicago Department of Transportation is taking the song and dance out of reporting potholes. 

With almost 300 holes repaired in Northcenter and Roscoe Village this year, the agency is asking residents to let them know about bumps in the road in a weekend blitz that started Friday.

Melodically named, “Potholepalooza,” CDOT hopes Chicagoans will report potholes so “your car doesn’t do the Harlem Shake and give you Divine Fits.”

In March, Men at Work gave Blood, Sweat and Tears to fill more than 116,000 holes with more than 1,200 tons of patching material, creating Nirvana for many drivers, and in the first week of April have addressed nearly 20,000 more, making roadways fit for the Queen.

Residents can report potholes by calling 311, reporting it online or using the Chicago Works smartphone app.

Remember, “even Wallflowers can have fun.,” CDOT says.
