Quigley Earns His Dough at Local Bakery

North Side Rep. Mike Quigley served as a baking assistant Tuesday at Dinkel's Bakery on Lincoln Avenue.

Dinkel’s Bakery got a surprise visit on Tuesday, when North Side Rep. Mike Quigley (IL-5) joined employees for a lesson in tarts.

The representative visited the Bavarian bakery as part of his Undercover Congressman series, performing different jobs throughout the district.

“Dinkel’s Bakery is a culinary icon and a prime example of American entrepreneurship in our District,” Quigley said in a release. “As a family-owned and operated business for four generations, the Dinkel family has a unique perspective on how the challenges facing small businesses have changed over time and what I can do to help as a member of Congress. Working alongside local business owners and their employees is more valuable than reading any memo in DC.”
