A Roscoe Village resident has been honored for the thousands of hours he's tirelessly dedicated to worthy causes.
Executive Service Corps of Chicago presented Gordon Bieberle last month with its A. Dean Swift Distinguished Service Award, in recognition of the more-than 3,000 he has spent helping metropolitan nonprofits. The award was presented Nov. 8 at the 2012 Celebration of Service, an annual event acknowledging the impact of ESC’s 300 volunteer consultants and coaches in its more than 150 nonprofits.
Bieberle joined ESC in 2007 as a way to "give back" to his community using his years of business experience, according to a news release. He most recently served as a webmaster at Columbia College. Before that, he was the publisher for the National Safety Council and editor of The Professional Photographer, a national monthly magazine of the Professional Photographers of America.
