School’s Largest Fundraiser Scheduled for Saturday

The annual Spring Forward fundraiser has raised nearly $130,000 in just five years and helps the school pay for things not in the budget.

The fifth annual Spring Forward Auction and Gala to benefit Ravenswood Elementary School is almost here, and organizers have more ambitious goals than ever.

The event is the single largest fundraiser for the local school, snagging nearly $130,000 to benefit the performing arts magnet cluster school thus far. But this year, Friends of Ravenswood Schools hopes to raise upwards of $50,000.

Scheduled for Saturday from 6:30-11 p.m., Spring Forward brings together neighbors at the Dank Haus’ Marunde Grand Ballroom on Western Avenue for a bull-blown event.

Combining gourmet food and drink, live music silent auctions and a student gallery, the event provides a good time in exchange for the $65 ticket, and $30 for children.

But this year, organizers have something new of their sleeves. According to the ticket website, most of the silent auction will be online with extended bidding periods. That way even friends and family can join in on supporting the school while snagging deals on restaurants, sports tickets and more.

The organization also says they think the high fundraising goal could become a reality.

“It’s ambitious and it’s very much within our reach with your help,” organizers said on the event’s website. “Our students are worth it! Even minimal time commitment can make a huge difference.”

Tickets are still available to purchase on Ravenswood Elementary School’s website, and child care is offered during the event. The Dank Haus is located at 4740 N. Western Ave.
