‘Very Intoxicated’ Woman Robbed at Gunpoint

Officers were called to Roscoe Village Jan. 14 when a 25-year-old “very intoxicated” resident was robbed at gunpoint a few blocks from the Paulina Brown Line train station, police say.

According to the report, the woman admitted to drinking all night and taking a taxi around 12:40 a.m. to her home at the 1700 block of Roscoe Street. Although she was directly outside her house, two masked men approached her from behind and said, “Don’t talk… Don’t say anything.”

One of the men pushed back his jacket to reveal a semi-automatic hand gun in the waistband of his pants and said, “Don’t do anything.”

The second man then “used his hands to ‘touch’ (the woman) all over her body,” police say.

The woman gave the two suspects her purse before the two walked down the street, got into a car and drove off. Then, on her way into her home, the woman told police she tripped and fell on the sidewalk, climbed the front stairs to her home and had roommates call 911.

“The victim stated she was very intoxicated and afraid, and she could not give a description of either men nor the color or type or direction of the vehicle they drove off in,” the report reads.

Police searched the surrounding area, but couldn’t find the masked men behind the robbery.
