Yogurt Square Eyeing Weekend Re-opening

The frozen yogurt shop at 4701 N. Lincoln Ave. has been closed since December for renovations.

Despite a slight delay, Yogurt Square in Giddings Plaza is eyeing a weekend opening.

The popular frozen yogurt store suddenly closed one day in December, leaving nearby Lincoln Square residents worrying about the shop's future.

Fear not froyo fans, owner Ali Ozturk assured Patch in January that Yogurt Square is just going through renovations.

Ozturk expected to be open later that month or early February, but was delayed because of construction. The owner said the store will probably reopen this weekend, but was hazy on the exact day.

Customers will see new tile and paint when the business opens again as well as 16 yogurt flavors and new toppings. But Ozturk is keeping mum on those for now.

Yogurt Square opened in February 2012 at Lincoln and Leland avenues. Locally-owned by Ozturk, it offers sugar and lactose-free yogurts, smoothies and juices.
