1 Trapped, Seriously Injured After Oak Forest Car Crash: Police

Police said a firetruck was not involved in the Thursday morning crash as some residents believed after seeing the truck at the scene.

OAK FOREST, IL β€” A Thursday morning crash in Oak Forest left one person seriously injured, police told Patch.

According to Oak Forest Police Chief Jason Reid, the crash occurred Thursday near 159th Street and Central Avenue.

Police responded to the two vehicle crash at around 4:30 a.m. While some residents thought a firetruck was involved in the crash, Reid said the truck was positioned at an odd angle while firefighters worked to free one person who was trapped in their car.

Officials were able to get the person out of their car and took them to a local hospital where they are listed in serious condition.

Reid said no other drivers or passengers were injured.
