$10,000 Reward Offered For Information In Shooting Death Of South Holland Teen
Village of South Holland and Fr. Michael Pfleger offer the reward for information that leads to an arrest in the death of Davell Holden.
SOUTH HOLLAND, IL — A reward is being offered for information in the homicide of a beloved South Holland teen, the Village said Tuesday in a release.
The Village of South Holland, in partnership with Fr. Michael Pfleger of Saint Sabina, is offering the $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the death Davell Holden. Holden was found shot on a lawn at 160th and Drexel Saturday evening, police said.
Village officials and the South Holland Police Department urge anyone with knowledge of this crime to come forward. Holden was a rising junior and basketball player at Thornwood High School in South Holland.
"I still don't really know what happened; I just know he left here, went over there, and I got a phone call, tragic phone call about him being shot, something that I could never have imagined," his mother Angela Birts told ABC7. "Everyone is honoring my son, knowing that great young man. I'm sorry that I only got 16 years, but I am grateful for those 16 years."

Individuals who submit tips can request to remain anonymous. Information will be kept confidential.
“We are committed to finding justice for Davell and his family, and we are asking the public for their help," said South Holland Mayor Don De Graff. "From everything we’ve learned about Davell, he was respectful and dedicated to his academics and athletics, with a particular love for basketball. His loss is a tragedy for his family and for our community.”
