$1M Mega Millions Ticket Sold In Oak Forest
No one hit the $1 billion jackpot, but a ticket bought at a city liquor store might have earned someone a nice consolation prize

OAK FOREST, IL — Although no one scored Friday's jackpot of $1 billion, a winning Mega Millions ticket worth $1 million was sold at an Oak Forest liquor store. It was one of two $1 million tickets sold in Illinois and 15 nationwide.
Oak Forest's $1 million ticket — matching five of the six numbers from Friday's drawing — was sold at Stop N Go Liquor, 5214 W. 159 St. The winning numbers were 15, 23, 53, 65 and 70, and the gold Mega Ball was 7.
A Stop N Go clerk told the Daily Southtown that around $2,500 worth of tickets had been purchased Friday, Oct. 19, but it wasn't clear when the $1 million ticket was sold. And while it's not $1 billion — or even $1 million — the store still earns $10,000 for selling the lucky ticket.

Signed winning tickets can be redeemed within a year of the drawing at one of the Illinois Lottery's prize centers in Chicago, Des Plaines, Fairview, Rockford or Springfield. As of Saturday, no winner had come forward.
Because no ticket matched all six winning numbers, the Mega Millions jackpot for drawing Tuesday, Oct. 23, will be an estimated $1.6 billion — or $905 million for the lump-sum, cash option. That would set a new world record for lottery jackpots, surpassing the $1.586 billion Powerball drawing from Jan. 13, 2016.

Illinois' other $1 million winning ticket was sold at a BP gas station, 6500 S. Kedzie Ave., Chicago.
