2nd Man Caught In Midlothian Gun Bust: Cops
Roland Jackson is accused of stealing a firearm shipment in Tennessee and driving the guns north to the south suburbs, police said.

MIDLOTHIAN, IL — A second man who is accused of stealing around 400 guns in Tennessee and driving them north to Midlothian over the weekend was apprehended Wednesday. Roland Jackson, 25, was taken into custody by Midlothian police, who were assisted by Chicago police, authorities said.
Jackson along with Taveyan Turnbo, 18, of Chicago, allegedly pulled off one of the largest gun heists ever by taking three pallets of .22- and .380-caliber firearms from a UPS facility early Sunday, Sept. 30, in Memphis, Tennessee, according to the Daily Southtown. The pair then drove the weapons in a U-Haul to Midlothian.
Police seized about 350 guns in the U-Haul when they were called Sunday night to a Walgreens parking lot in the 4800 block of West 148th Street to investigate a suspected drug deal. The two men fled the parking lot, but Turnbo was arrested during a manhunt that night.

Turnbo already had been charged with possession of stolen firearms, and Jackson was facing charges of illegal possession of a firearm by a felon, the Southtown reports. Although he told authorities he didn't participate in the heist, Turbo admitted that he was going to help sell the guns and that he and Jackson had already sold at least three of the weapons, the report added.
