Autism 'Nothing Less Than A Superpower' For OF Teen: Star Student
Oak Forest's Jason, a senior at Mount Carmel, has flourished in high school, with dedication to several sports, SADD, and Campus Ministry.

OAK FOREST, IL — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Jen, who nominated Jason, of Oak Forest.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Jason is a wonderful young man who attends Mount Carmel High School as a Senior Class of 2023. Jason has autism and has made it a point to prove that his diagnosis is nothing less than a superpower. Jason has been a part of the football team, bowling team, Esports team, LaCrosse Goalie, president of SADD, a member of Campus Ministry and Student Sports Medicine and several other clubs and activities. Jason volunteers for everything and is always a helping hand when needed. He still finds time to help with his younger brother's sport teams, as well. Jason has worked extremely hard to accomplish this goal he has set for himself, and we want to show him how proud we are of him.
