DUI Charge for Driver
Sherri A. Urbanski, 40, of the 158000 block of Leclaire Avenue, was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use, not wearing a seat belt and driving with a suspended license, according to a report. Police stopped a car traveling eastbound in the westbound lane in the 5500 block of 159th Street.
An officer could smell a “moderate” amount of alcohol coming from the driver’s breath, according to the report. When asked for identification, Urbanaski handed her wallet to the officer and said “You find it. I can’t seem to see it,” the report stated. She was asked to perform field sobriety tests—she declined to take a breath test—and then was arrested.

Clothes Stolen From Delivery Van
Two racks of clothing were stolen from a dry cleaner delivery van in the 15800 block of Terrace Drive, according to a report. The van was left overnight in the driver's driveway, the report stated. When the driver checked in the morning, he noticed the van door was unlocked, which he told police was "odd."
The driver was unsure how many pieces of clothing were taken and estimated each item to be worth between $30 and $1,200, according to the report.

Mercury Sable Reported Stolen
A 1997 Mercury Sable was reported stolen from the 14700 block of Central Avenue, according to a report. The owner had left for a soccer game with his son and, when they returned, found the car missing. He originally told police he saw an ex-girlfriend take the car but later changed that story, saying he didn’t know who took it.
Police blotter information is provided by the Oak Forest Police Department. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions taken on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. If you or a family member are charged or cited and the case is subsequently adjudicated, we encourage you to notify the editor. We will verify and report the outcome.
