Car Stolen In Oak Forest Used In Attempted Carjacking: Cop Source

A car stolen from the "Stop N' Go" last month was used in an attempted carjacking in South Holland this week, police said in a bulletin.

OAK FOREST, IL — A car reported stolen last month in Oak Forest has turned up in South Holland, where police say it was used in an attempted armed carjacking this week, according to information received from a law enforcement source.

A white Hyundai Genesis car was left running outside the "Stop N' Go" convenient store at 5214 W. 159th St. in Oak Forest a little after 6 p.m. on March 5, according to a police bulletin. The car thief got out of the passenger's side of a black Chevy Camaro and drove off with the Hyundai.

Both the Hyundai and Chevy headed eastbound on 159th Street, according to police, who also indicated video surveillance led them to believe the driver of the Hyundai was followed by the suspects from 159th and Le Claire to the Stop N' Go.
