Child Porn Charges For Midlothian Man
The man was arrested following a lengthy investigation by the Cook Co. Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, authorities said.
MIDLOTHIAN, IL — A Midlothioan man faces child porn charges following a lengthy investigation by a multijurisdictional task force. Robert Van Etten, 70, of the 3900 block of West 151st Street, was arrested and charged Friday with possessing child pornography.
According to authorities, officers from the Cook County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force had been investigating Van Etten since 2016, according to the Daily Southtown. In December of that year, investigators downloaded nearly 80 images of child pornography from a computer traced to a Midlothian address, the report added.
The task force executed a search warrant at Van Etten's home in April 2017, and the officers from the Oak Forest, Orland Park and Berwyn police departments seized digital evidence, the report stated. That evidence was sent to a lab for analysis, the report added.

Van Etten is being held on $50,000 bail. His next court appearance is Oct. 22.'
