OAK FOREST, IL — The Oak Forest City Council will meet Tuesday night to consider a number of ordinances, proclamations and appointments.

At 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, located at 15440 Central Ave., the council will vote to officially authorize the sale and demolition of the former Oak Forest Community Pool.

At a June city council meeting, the city owned property, located at 5122 Aldersyde Road, was approved for demolition by the Cook County Sheriff's Department Resorting Neighborhoods Workforce (RENEW) at no cost to the city. The pool closed amid the coronavirus pandemic, and infrastructure repairs would have cost the city around $50,000 to operate again.
