City To Host Blood Drive With Goal Of Donating To 83 Hospitals
Officials from Acorn Public Library and Versiti Blood Center will host the mobile blood drive Jan. 18 in the library parking lot.
OAK FOREST, IL — City officials are hosting a mobile blood drive next week in the hopes of donating blood to at least 83 local hospitals.
The blood drive, which is sponsored by Versiti Blood Center of Illinois, will be held Jan. 18 at the Acorn Public Library parking lot. Residents can make an appointment from 3 - 6:30 p.m. the day of the drive or drive-up.
"Please consider donating blood, especially since January is National Blood Donor Month!" a spokesperson for the library said in a statement.

All participants will be given a free pair of Versiti branded socks, officials said. COVID-19 safety guidelines such as masking and social distancing will be enforced, but officials told Patch participants do not need to be vaccinated against coronavirus in order to give blood.
