City Of Oak Forest Approves Trick-Or-Treating Amid COVID-19
The City of Oak Forest gives the green lights for residents to partake in Halloween this October amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
OAK FOREST, IL — The City of Oak Forest has confirmed that Halloween festivities will be making their way to town this October. Despite the concerns of potentially spreading the COVID-19 virus, the city has set guidelines in place to potentially lower the risks and still allow residents to partake in trick-or-treating.
On Saturday, Oct. 31, residents will have the ability to participate in trick-or-treating between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., according to the city. The city asks that trick-or-treaters keep their groups to a minimum and practice social distancing. Wearing a mask or face covering is also highly recommended by the city.
The city also asks residents to be respectful to those who choose not to participate in Halloween this year.

Residents took to Facebook to create a private group for those who are participating in trick-or-treating. Oak Forest Neighbors For Halloween is a Facebook group used to share general areas, streets and locations of houses that will be participating in trick-or-treating. This approach is being used to keep festivities organized, according to residents.
