OAK FOREST, IL — Observed on the second Monday of October, Columbus Day is a federal holiday that can be a bit confusing when it comes to knowing what's open and what's closed. With that in mind, Patch has put together a list on how Columbus Day will affect some of the prominent institutions and services in the city. Here's a look at what will be opened and closed for the holiday:

Schools: No classes for Forest Ridge Elementary School District 142, Arbor Park School District 145, Community Consolidated School District 146, Bremen High School District 228 and Consolidated School District 230.
